I am delighted to share that from 1 January, Metrobus and Southdown Buses will be introducing a £2 fare cap on single tickets which will remain until 31 March.
One of the most regular bits of feedback I found from the Caterham Commuter Survey about buses was that they were unaffordable so this news is thoroughly welcome in making buses more reasonably priced for residents. Find out more about the scheme here.
For residents travelling to work, school or college in Redhill, Reigate, Gatwick, Oxted or Crawley, this will be welcome news and will help during a time where costs are increasing. I would be keen to see a longer term scheme for reduced bus fares introduced in Surrey.
I will work to push for further improvements to bus affordability in Surrey such as a daily fare cap like in London.
