A resident got in touch with me after a burnt out bike and several mattresses were dumped in Riverside Garden Park's car park. As this is an open space that is enjoyed by Horley residents, this was very sad to see.

Families, dog walkers, runners and cyclists use Riverside Garden Park frequently. And wildlife lives in the park. So having this waste dumped so thoughtlessly could have caused the wildlife or visitors to become very unwell indeed.

I have raised it with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council officers, and have asked for the rubbish to be cleared.

Fly tipping is a blight on our communities. And one of my priorities is to stamp out this anti-social behaviour and work with Cllr Hannah Avery, Executive Member for Neighbourhood Services at Reigate & Banstead Borough Council to tackle fly tipping in Horley's open spaces.
