Surrey road funding increased by £66million

Writer: Taylor O'DriscollTaylor O'Driscoll

Everyone uses Surrey's road network every day, so I know how important it is to invest in it. In a significant boost for our infrastructure, road funding in Surrey has increased to over £90 million, from £24 million previously.

This is fantastic news for Surrey residents, and this substantial financial investment will enable the resurfacing of 1,000 kilometres of roads across Surrey. The initiative aims to enhance road safety, improve driving conditions, and extend the lifespan of existing roadways, benefiting both local residents and commuters.

This investment is part of a broader effort to upgrade Surrey's transport network, ensuring that the region can accommodate growing traffic demands while maintaining the quality and reliability of its road systems.

I will be pushing for this funding to used locally on a variety of initiatives across the local area, and will work with residents and the authorities to secure road safety initiatives on the A29 in Ockley and the A24 between Dorking and Beare Green. And of course, I will keep you updated on progress with this.
