Keeping local businesses in business

Our local high street is a lifeline for residents. But I don't feel it's supported enough.

​

A good high street doesn't just boost the local economy, but brings people together. It creates local jobs and make our community stronger.

​

The new East Surrey Council needs to give further support for local businesses by campaigning for new shops to receive grants for shop fronts and a rates rebate for the first six months of opening. 

​

I'll campaign for investment in the town centre to encourage people to shop locally. And I'll push for one hour of free parking in Council-owned car parks.

​

My longstanding support and advocacy for local businesses in Horley will continue, and I will continue to highlight all of the fantastic organisations we have here. And I will oppose any scheme put forward that puts the high street at risk.
