Our local high street is a lifeline for residents. But I don't feel it's supported enough.

A good high street doesn't just boost the local economy, but brings people together. It creates local jobs and make our community stronger.

The new East Surrey Council needs to give further support for local businesses by offering grants for new shop fronts and a rates rebate for new shops during the first six months of opening. 

​

I'll campaign for investment in the town centre to encourage people to shop locally. And I'll push for one hour of free parking in council-owned car parks.

My longstanding support and advocacy for local businesses in Horley will continue, and I will continue to highlight all of the fantastic organisations we have here. And I will oppose any scheme put forward that puts the high street at risk.
